Hoodwinked 2018

Hoodwinked

Hoodwinked is an exciting public art sculpture trail and it's coming to Nottingham this summer!

Robin Hood robin

The public art event from Wild in Art and Nottingham City Council involves 33 quirky Robin Hood sculptures, each sponsored by a business and individually decorated by artists. The Robins will be on display in locations across the city including Nottingham Playhouse, Old Market Square and Victoria Centre between 7 July and 30 September 2018 for families to discover as they make their way around the city.

52 schools from across Nottingham have also joined the excitement of Hoodwinked through the Robin’s Tales arts and literacy education programme, which offered schools the chance to decorate their very own BookBench as part of this city-wide learning programme. The book-shaped benches will sit on the Hoodwinked trail alongside the Robins, in spaces such as libraries and leisure centres, supporting the Read on Nottingham campaign. Once the trail finishes, the benches will return to schools as a permanent literacy 'inspiration station.'

Read On Nottingham has created a quiz to complement the Robins sculpture trail and encourage families to improve their communication and literacy skills over the school summer holidays. Children who answer at least eight of the 20 questions will be in with a chance of winning a bundle of books!

This competition is now closed. Competition winners will be notified.
