The Black Country

Everyone Ready for School parent with child and book

Black Country Reads is a campaign from the National Literacy Trust, working across the region in Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell and Walsall. The campaign aims to increase awareness of literacy issues, improve literacy outcomes for children and families, and build community capacity for long term change through the Literacy Champions programme.

Our activities will support families and young children to gain the literacy skills they need to succeed in life. We are also providing training for early years professionals, giving advice to local families and supporting fun events across the region.
