Do your own fundraising

There are plenty of things you can do to fundraise for us. Download our guide for some great tips and ideas, and have a look at our ideas below.

Quiz Night

Test your friends and family and host a Quiz Night. It's a really fun and simple way to fundraise and we would be happy to support you. Find out more here.

Afternoon Tea

Celebrate the importance of literacy with a National Literacy Trust afternoon tea. Find out more about hosting this type of event here

Book swap party

Ask your event to bring books they’ve enjoyed and put them on display. At the end of the event, everyone can choose some new books to enjoy in return for a donation. We suggest about £3 per book. If there are any books left over, you can donate these to Better World Books.

Speed book club

A book club, speed-dating style!

Give everyone an allotted amount of time for a ‘book date’. They’ll get the chance to chat and receive book recommendations before moving on to the next date.

Tell us about your event

Whether you have your own plans, or you're using one of our ideas, we would love to hear all about your event! Please get in touch and tell us all about it. Our team would be happy to send you balloons and collection boxes, and you can download our bunting and posters

It would be great if you could share pictures of your event on social media. Don’t forget to tag us @literacy_trust! We would love to see what you got up to.

After your event

There are a number of ways to get the money to us. You can donate on our website, or send a cheque, made payable to National Literacy Trust, to 68 South Lambeth Road, London, SW8 1RL.

Please get in touch to let us know you have sent in your fundraising, or use the reference ‘Fundraising Event’.
