This toolkit will help you to make the most of your fundraising in a few simple steps:

Online fundraising pages

The easiest way to kick off your fundraising is with a JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving page that you can share with friends, family and colleagues. Your page should include:

A compelling story

Visitors to your fundraising page are more likely to donate if they know more about your challenge.

Make sure you mention

  • Details of the challenge
  • Details of the  training you’ll be doing to achieve your goal
  • Why you've decided to take part, what it means to you and why you’re supporting the National Literacy Trust

A target amount

Your supporters are more likely to donate a larger amount if they know your fundraising target. Make sure this amount is ambitious, but attainable.

A picture of yourself

Make your page personal to you. Why not wear a National Literacy Trust t-shirt in your photo to demonstrate your support? For more ideas about how to make the most of your page read these great tips from Virgin Money Giving.

Match funding

Some companies will match any total donations made to charities. For example, if you raise £100 for us, this could become £200! Contact your human resources department to find out if match funding is available to you.
