Our annual Christmas Card competition is now live and we want you to get creative and enter. We’re asking children to design a card based on their favourite thing about Christmas. The competition is free to enter for all primary school pupils aged between 5 and 11 in the UK. Entries must be submitted by 5pm on 1 November.

12 winning designs will be chosen by our very special guest judge and will be available to purchase as printed or digital cards from 15 November. All proceeds will support our vital work to improve the literacy and learning of the most disadvantaged children.

Entries will be judged by the award-winning author and illustrator Nadia Shireen, the author of the brilliant new illlustrated book Grimwood (Simon & Schuster), and supporter of the National Literacy Trust.

How to enter

Children’s designs should have a clear festive theme, be on A5 sized paper (landscape or portrait) and can be scanned and sent by either schools or parents to christmas@literacytrust.org.uk. Please include the child's name, age, school, school address.

You can download the terms and conditions for this competition from the available files list on this page.
