To celebrate National Storytelling Week, the National Literacy Trust has launched a brand new campaign to share the magic of stories and raise money for our work!
Follow the Reader invites you to recommend 1 book, tag 2 friends and then donate £3 to support our work.
Just remember: share 1, tag 2 and donate 3!
This is an uncertain time for everyone. Reading can be a fantastic way to support your wellbeing, and by getting involved in Follow the Reader you will be able to share the magic of reading and stories with your friends and family.
We know that not every child in the UK is able to experience this magic, and 1 in 11 children do not own a single book and the widespread school and library closures caused by COVID-19 have had a huge impact on children's education . The money you raise by taking part in Follow the Reader will help the National Literacy Trust to help those who need literacy support most and getting your friends and family involved in the fundraiser will help us raise even more money.
How to get involved on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook
If you are using Instagram stories, simply use this template to share your book recommendation and tag your friends, and once you’ve posted it, share the blank template on your story too so your tagged friends can use it next.
If you are using Twitter or Facebook, simply write out your book recommendation and tag your friends in your post and publish this alongside this banner we have created specially with the instructions for the next person.
You'll also find the template and banner below, and on our social media channels too!
Don’t forget to Tag @Literacy_Trust and use #FollowTheReader.
