Reading for Pleasure in Key Stages 2 and 3 - Peterborough

60 Years of Reading

"Really enjoyed the training and the enthusiasm portrayed. If we could bottle that we would be very successful in our project."

Mari-Louise, Reading for Pleasure participant

As expressed by OFSTED and shown in our research, reading for pleasure is an important aspect of literacy and can impact on attainment in other areas too.

We are delighted to offer this training to schools participating in the Peterborough Reads BookBench project, giving schools the opportunity to purchase and decorate their own bench to promote reading in their school community.

This is a collaborative action research project for teachers in Key Stages 2 and 3. The sessions will cover:

  • Creating a whole-school reading culture
  • Building engagement around and teaching whole texts
  • Developing high-quality book talk

All training delegates receive a year's membership of the National Literacy Trust, giving you access to a huge range of resources and discounts.

To book your place(s) please complete the BookBench order form. Outside of Peterborough? You are still welcome to attend the training, subject to availability - please email schools@literacytrust.org.uk to register your interest.
