Where's Wally? fundraising

WALLY CAKES2.jpg

Every penny you raise by fundraising at the Where's Wally? fun run will help we can transform the life stories of children in some of the most deprived communities across the UK.

We know that fundraising can sometimes feel a bit daunting, so we've produced this 'how to' guide to help you get started.

What difference does my fundraising make?

Every penny will make a difference, and here's an idea of what you could achieve with your fundraising:

  • £7 could gift a child with their very first book to take home and keep forever
  • £15 could fund a teenager to attend literacy skills workshops that will help them get a job when they leave school
  • £100 could give 3 children who have fallen behind in their reading 20 hours of motivational literacy support each
  • £650 will gift a Literacy Toolkit to a local primary school or community group

There's no minimum fundraising target for the Where's Wally? fun run - so please set your own target and raise what you can!

How do I get started?

Getting started with you fundraising is as simple as 1, 2, 3!

  1. Set up a fundraising page on JustGiving or download a sponsorship form.
  2. Tell the world about your exciting challenge!
  3. Tell us why you are taking part (and we'll feature your story on our participant hall of fame)

Here's some text that you can use on your fundraising page or emails out to your friends and colleagues.

On Sunday 15 March 2020, I am putting my best foot forward in the name of literacy at the Where's Wally? fun run! The National Literacy Trust is dedicated to improving the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills of children who need it most, giving them the best possible chance of success in school, work and life. Literacy is a vital element of action against poverty and every penny I raise will help change children’s life stories. Please dig deep and sponsor me!
