Hachette supports literacy with cycle to Paris

05 May 2017

Hachette Connect

We are delighted that a team from our partner Hachette is cycling from London to Paris this weekend to raise money for our work.

After months of training, 30 Hachette employees, suppliers, friends and family members will be taking on the ambitious task of cycling 200 miles. The cyclists will set off from the London office on Victoria Embankment at on Sunday 7 May, aiming to arrive at the publisher’s Paris office on Tuesday 9 May.

We have chosen to support a literacy charity because we want more children to unlock their potential and find their passion for reading. We know that sadly a third of disadvantaged children in the UK leave primary school unable to read well enough to succeed in secondary school, severely reducing their chance of leading a happy and successful life. “The money we raise will help the National Literacy Trust to support children living in these deprived communities and give them the literacy skills they need to succeed in life.
