Stoke Reads is a community driven campaign, which means we need as many local people and businesses behind it as possible.

  • Disadvantaged pupils finish primary school significantly behind their more advantaged peers.

    In 2018, 53% of students in Stoke-on-Trent achieved good grades in English and maths at GCSE, compared to 59% nationally.

  • Students in Stoke-on-Trent finish secondary school with grades behind the national average.

    In 2018, only 53% of students in Stoke-on-Trent achieved good grades (9-4) in English and maths at GCSE, compared to 59% nationally.
