Give a child the joy of books

Change a child's life story

Nothing beats the joy of getting lost in a good book. So this year, the National Literacy Trust is delighted to be partnering with Good Housekeeping to help young readers.

We all remember the books that we loved and treasured as children, but this year half a million children across the UK say they don’t have a book of their own at home. The situation is expected to worsen still with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

Access to books can play a vital role in shaping children’s futures. That is why the National Literacy Trust and Good Housekeeping are asking readers to ensure that children from all backgrounds have access to life-changing books.

You could give a child the gift of reading by supporting the National Literacy Trust, who work in the most disadvantaged areas across the country to give children and families access to books and support their reading, writing, and communication skills.

A gift of just £15 could provide a child with books and the literacy support they need to change their life story.
