The England Women’s football team have been taking part in the Women’s Euros this summer. To capitalise on the excitement around the tournament, we have teamed up with The FA to create a toolkit for teachers based around the Lionesses at the Women’s Euros.
The free Literacy with the Lionesses toolkit is packed with fun football-themed activities for boys and girls in Years 5 to 8, including writing tips from top football authors and reading engagement ideas for the whole school.
The toolkit is complemented by supporting resources and worksheets for you to download.
Dutch Diaries live story
Dutch Diaries is an episodic story by top children's author Tom Palmer, which followed the Lionesses at the Women’s Euros. The story was released a chapter at a time during the summer term.
Dutch Diaries is designed to be read aloud to a whole class or in an assembly, and used in conjunction with the Literacy with the Lionesses toolkit.

National School Sport Week
National School Sport Week took place from 26-30 June 2017. The week is a celebration of PE, school sport and physical activity. As part of the week, the Youth Sport Trust worked in partnership with The Football Association to engage teachers, schools and girls with the UEFA Women’s Euros 2017 through free European Championship 2017 resources free European Championship 2017 resources. .
