In 2022, Her Majesty The Queen becomes the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee.
While events and royal visits are taking place throughout the year, some very special celebrations are taking place between 2 and 5 June. These include the Queen’s Birthday Parade (Trooping the Colour), Platinum Party at the Palace, and the Platinum Jubilee Pageant, as well as many locally organised street parties. You can download our free, flexible ideas from this page. Use the ideas individually, to match any time you have available, or combine them together in a plan that culminates in a class display and tea party, perhaps inviting parents and sharing favourite books.
If you would like to do more to extend reading and writing inspired by the Jubilee, take a look at our Platinum Jubilee Royal Reading Challenge. This comes with full teacher guidelines, attractive resources to display in your classroom, reading logs and certificates for pupils, plus the chance to win a box of books and a DK voucher.
