Investigate the books in your class or library and find what is missing!

Explore Your Classroom and Library
As part of the National Year of Reading 2026, our goal is simple: to get everyone in the United Kingdom reading! To make that happen, it is essential that every child can find books they truly want to read.
This activity is designed to help you and your pupils explore the books already in your classroom, discover what they enjoy, and identify what is missing.
Together, you will create a wish list that ensures your reading corner is exciting, inclusive, and offers a diverse range of reading materials. Not only traditional stories, but also magazines, comics, poetry, and non-fiction, so every pupil can find something that interests them and reflects a variety of experiences and perspectives.
By taking part, you will help foster a love of reading and ensure your classroom library represents the voices, interests and needs of all learners.
