We’re so excited to be working with Bupa Foundation to launch Well Ahead, our new platform encouraging young people to use creative writing as a way to process events from the wider world and express their emotions.
The platform is hosted on our Zone In site, and anyone 13+ can find a range of activities designed to improve wellbeing, such as podcast recommendations or curated book lists. We’ve got video content from some brilliant writers and speakers who are passionate about mental health, including practical tips from mindfulness coach, Tony Dallas.
We’re also launching The Write Space, a six-week series of video workshops and live events to encourage young people to look after their mental wellbeing. The first week includes a activities on free writing and tuning into the present moment led by poet, arts facilitator and psychotherapist, Jasmine Cooray.
Alex Cole, Bupa Foundation Chair says:
“We are delighted to partner with the National Literacy Trust to launch Well Ahead and the six-week creative writing series, The Write Space. We are passionate about supporting the mental wellbeing of young people and we know that creative writing has the extraordinary ability to boost someone’s mood.
“Children and young people have experienced a huge amount of turbulence and isolation over the last year and we hope Well Ahead helps them process what’s going on both outside their room and inside their head.”
