We are thrilled to announce that News UK has chosen the National Literacy Trust as one of four charities to benefit from its annual News Corp Giving fund – a philanthropic programme which, for four years, has supported charities in the communities where its employees live and work.
Four charities were chosen by employees in the UK and Ireland from across News UK, Dow Jones, HarperCollins UK, Unruly and Wireless Group.
The National Literacy Trust, Shelter, Magic Breakfast and Pieta House will each receive a £25,000 donation from the fund, and will also benefit from new opportunities for News UK employees to get involved in volunteering, fundraising and long-term support.
"We are thrilled that News Corp has chosen to partner with the National Literacy Trust. Their generosity will help us transform the lives of hundreds of children from the most disadvantaged communities in the UK by giving them the literacy skills they need to lead happy and successful lives."
Jonathan Douglas, Director of the National Literacy Trust
