Tong Garden Centre have launched an exciting competition with us exclusively for 20 primary schools in Keighley and Tong & Bowling!

To celebrate the opening of the new indoor play at Grass Hoppers this summer, some new characters have been added to the gang and we need help to bring them to life! Pupils are invited to create a name for one of the two new characters then use their imagination and words to describe them.

Pupils are encouraged to be as creative as possible in naming and describing one of the new characters that will join Hopper and his gang in bringing Grass Hoppers to life!

This is a brilliant creative writing challenge to get involved in as summer approaches, and there are some super prizes for the winning children and their class!

The two pupils who choose the winning names for each character will receive a Grass Hoppers goody bag, a free play pass for themselves and a bundle of books, plus a ‘class pass’ that gives all of the winner’s school class a free play at Grass Hoppers.

Jo Dales, marketing manager at Tong Garden Centre, said: "We want to celebrate the opening of the new indoor play in a way that supports the great work of Bradford Stories, so we have launched this competition to encourage children to be creative in naming and describing one of the new characters that will join Hopper and his gang in bringing Grass Hoppers to life."

Imran Hafeez, manager of the National Literacy Trust Hub in Bradford, said: "This is a fantastic competition that really connects with our purpose and gives the children in our selected schools an exciting and engaging opportunity to get creative.

"We are really looking forward to seeing just how imaginative these young minds have been and reading their creative descriptions for the new characters at Grass Hoppers."
