Peterborough Reads attended the Vivacity Storytelling Festival this weekend at Peterborough Central Park, running a host of creative activities to encourage storytelling and writing development. Children wrote about their favourite book, decorated leaves for the Reading Tree and used potato peelers to whittle story sticks for oral storytelling. They were offered a free book to take home after the event.
Kindly supported by PCC School Standards Effectiveness Team’s Sue Howard, Hub Manager Sally Atkinson spoke about the importance of reading, the Peterborough Vision for Reading and Reading Buddies. More than 600 books were given away.
