Several Peterborough businesses attended a charity quiz on Thursday 13 September at Argo Lounge to support the National Literacy Trust. 35 supporters came together to raise over £820 for the charity, which works with local schools and communities through its Peterborough Hub to give disadvantaged children the literacy skills to succeed in life.
There were seven rounds in the quiz, with subjects including general knowledge, music, spelling and local Peterborough knowledge. Attendees could also take part in a raffle, with prizes including wine, goody bags and chocolates. The winning team was ‘Bald Winners’ from Rawlinson Accountants.
The National Literacy Trust Hub in Peterborough is known locally as Peterborough Reads. The charity’s work supports the Vision for Reading in Peterborough, an approach launched by Peterborough City Council, Vivacity and the National Literacy Trust in January to ensure that every child in the city enjoys reading and can read well.

There was an incredible atmosphere, we raised awareness of our important work in the city, and the evening generated a fantastic £821 to support more local children.
