Look out for our National Literacy Trust in Peterborough postcards this summer! This is a city-wide game of literacy hide and seek - find a postcard and take it to a participating library to claim a free book for your child.

Summer Story Hunt 2025

Throughout August, Literacy Champions will be hiding special postcards in everyday places across the city - from bus stops and playgrounds to community centres and local landmarks. Each postcard is a golden ticket.

If your family finds one, take it to one of the three participating Peterborough libraries and choose a free book to take home and keep. It couldn't be simpler.

When children and young people enjoy reading, they read more often, helping to build vital reading skills and bringing wider benefits for wellbeing, confidence and learning.

We want to make sure every child in Peterborough has access to books and that a love for reading extends to every corner of the city.
