We are calling on local, regional and national organisations to support the Read North East campaign.

Businesses and organisations can pledge support in a number of ways below:

To raise awareness about the importance of reading for enjoyment in your workplace, I agree to:

Add a bookshelf to a communal area of my workplace to support my colleagues to share books

Talk to the National Literacy Trust about opportunities for my employees to volunteer in local schools to help children with their literacy skills

Support employee wellbeing by encouraging reading and listening to audiobooks during breaks

Share what my employees are reading on a notice board

on social media or through email

or recommend a monthly book for colleagues to read

Speak to the National Literacy Trust about resources for local schools and to encourage employees to read with their children

To support initiatives and events in the North East, I will:

Spread the Read North East campaign messages through our website and on social media

Promote the Read North East campaign in my workplace through flyers and posters provided by the National Literacy Trust

Encourage other local organisations to support the campaign
