Made in Manchester

Poetry Trinity

The Read Manchester campaign is looking for schools to be involved in a unique poetry project, Made in Manchester

We are calling on schools and community groups across Manchester to help us put together a poem made up of 100 different languages to celebrate the diversity of Manchester and our local communities.

Children and families are to add new lines to a poem written by local poet, Zahid Hussain. The new lines should be written in English and another language, using the entry templates provided.

We'll choose one submission per language to create a multi-language poem. All schools that take part will be entered into a prize draw to win a collection of dual language books for their school library and the children whose entries are selected for the final poem will receive a book token.

Please download an entry form and guidance on how to submit your entries below.

For more information please contact Margaret Duff or Cheryl Pridgeon.

This competition will close on 13 July 2018.
