Join Manchester’s One Million Minutes challenge!

30 October – 10 November

Every minute counts – if we reach One Million Minutes of reading, we will be able to ‘unlock’ book boxes for local community groups and donate a day of storytelling for children at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

You can get involved as a school or community group by joining the Challenge and logging your reading 30 October – 10 November.

What is the One Million Minutes challenge?

In hospital, books provide escape, distraction, comfort and reassurance. Read for Good supplies brand new books and a professional storyteller who works with children on the wards. Our One Million Minutes challenge will be supporting these children and their families to access books and reading at a time when it really matters.

In 2019, we brought you the hugely successful Manchester Readathon, so Read for Good and Read Manchester are joining forces again to launch a fantastic free challenge to promote reading in your school, business or community and support children’s reading in hospital. The ten schools/organisations/individuals contributing the most minutes will be invited to nominate a local community group to receive a box of fabulous new books.
