Bradford

Since 2014, we have been supporting literacy in Bradford through unique, community-driven projects. We have worked with over 50,000 children, families and teachers, and have given out over 150,000 books to children – many of whom did not own a single book.
We’ve focused our work on encouraging writing through innovative poetry projects, improving school readiness by working with dads, and recruiting local community volunteers.

How to get involved
Are you a school in Bradford?
We work alongside teachers and school librarians to ensure that every child leaves school with literacy skills for life. We work in the classroom to deliver inspiring and evidence-based programmes including the West Yorkshire Poet Laureate programme and Goldsmith's 500 Writers Challenge.
Are you a local organisation, passionate about your region?
Our work wouldn't be possible without our incredible partner organisations - including football clubs, foodbanks, museums and parks. If you work for an organisation in Bradford and are interested to support us, we'd love to hear from you!
