Course content
- Uses evidence from research and theory to investigate effective literacy strategies for teaching and learning in English
- Explores the use of reading strategies to support active reading of fiction, non-fiction and 19th century literary texts
- Considers strategies to support the acquisition of academic vocabulary
- Reviews key writing conventions for evaluative writing
- Discusses the use of academic writing tools to support analytical writing

- Non-specialists teaching English
- Early career English teachers seeking to refresh their understanding of disciplinary literacy in English
- Teaching Assistants supporting English
