What is the Ultra Challenge?
Choose from tough 100km challenges to more relaxed 10km events in a range of fabulous locations including costal paths, lakesides and steep hills - with 15 events to choose from there will be an Ultra Challenge to suit you! Entry includes free food and drink at rest stops, and support from medics, marshals and massage teams. As you cross the finish line, you'll get a glass of fizz, a t-shirt and a medal to celebrate your achievement.
Who can take part in the Ultra Challenge?
You can sign up as an individual or a team - it's totally up to you! Just visit the Ultra Challenge website to sign up and choose the option 'full sponsorship for charity' to pay a small registration fee and commit to fundraising to help us break the cycle of poverty and low literacy. Make sure you choose National Literacy Trust from the list of charities (we sit in the Education/Outdoor section).
The difference you could make
Your support enables us to continue changing lives throughout the UK.
£50.00 helps train a volunteer to work with parents with low literacy levels and give them the skills to help develop their child's literacy and communication skills.
£100.00 or more contributes towards a National Literacy Trust Hub, which will create long-term change in areas of the UK where low literacy levels are entrenched and inter-generational.
£280.00 could inspire a class of children to read for pleasure through a ten-week motivational programme working with Premier League footballers.
