‘Soundtrack your story’: a storytelling project with Jeffrey Boakye
Supported by Amazon, we have created a fun, interactive storytelling project for National Storytelling Week with author and broadcaster Jeffrey Boakye, for pupils aged 11 to 14 (S1-S3). Based on the theme ‘Soundtrack your story’, the project is designed to inspire a love of story creation through music and rhythm.
The week begins with a free, live storytelling workshop with Jeffrey on 4 February 2026, 10.00-10.45.
The workshop will be an exciting springboard for a menu of classroom activities providing inspiration for pupils’ stories.
If you are unable to attend, a recording of the workshop will be available on YouTube and uploaded to this page.
Key Stage 3 (S1-S3) classroom resources
Our National Storytelling Week classroom resources for Key Stage 3 provide a flexible menu of activities for you and your students to choose from at a time of day that suits you.
The learning sequence is developed with the national curriculum in mind, and the curriculum links can be found at the end of the resource.
We also have family resources for children to complete at home.
Writing competition
At the end of National Storytelling Week, you will be able to submit pupils' work via a link on this page. We will then judge the entries with the support of Amazon volunteers.
Winning pupils will be published in a National Storytelling Week anthology. They will receive a printed copy of the anthology as well as a copy for their school. These pupils and their schools will be in with the chance of winning book bundles.
