Dream Big
Dream Big is our Young Voices Programme key stage 1 offer, which empowers children aged 5 to 7 with the oracy skills they need to imagine their futures, the world they aspire to live in, and their role in shaping it.
This is a key moment in a child’s early language development when they are transitioning into a more formal educational setting. By the age of seven, many children have already formed stereotypes and societal stigmas, potentially limiting their aspirations and opportunities. This is a crucial time to develop fundamental oracy skills for learning and life.
About the project
Over six weeks, your key stage 1 children develop skills like turn-taking and active listening through storytelling, book talk and role play. This primary school programme culminates in an exciting ‘Dream Big Day’ where pupils present their vision for the future around themes including kindness, sustainability and their local community.
There are also opportunities for volunteers and other adult role models to support these sessions.
