Portal School Libraries Programme
About the Programme
The Portal School Libraries programme will support nine primary schools across Lambeth during the 2023-24 academic year to develop their book corners and library spaces. By participating your school will receive the training, resources and books needed to develop your reading for pleasure culture and inspire pupils to become life-long readers.
Participating schools will receive

300 new books
A diverse selection of titles including favourite authors and exciting new voices from a variety of UK publishers

Training
Reading for pleasure training for two members of staff supporting you to develop and embed a culture of reading for pleasure

Library furnishings
A choice from a selection of library furniture packages to enhance school library and reading spaces, with a value of up to £750

Author events
Online access to high quality virtual author events with current, popular and diverse authors to inspire reading and writing for pleasure

National Literacy Trust Membership
A year of membership providing access to resources and tools to support reading and literacy across the whole school

Monthly newsletter
Regular PSLA newsletter containing inspiration, activities, events and free resources to develop knowledge and practice around reading for pleasure in schools
Take part in the Portal Libraries Programme
The Portal School Libraries Programme will take place in nine different primary schools across the London borough of Lambeth in the 2023/24 academic year.
