Read On Nottingham has teamed up with Nottingham Emmanuel School and the Farnborough Academy who have created some fantastic activities to help Year 6 pupils feel prepared for Year 7.
The activities are based on the book SMART by Kim Slater - a brilliant book set in Nottingham about a mysterious crime and the unlikely boy detective who must solve it. Kim herself has recorded some videos to support children through the activities
Everyone is welcome to complete the tasks and pupils don't need to have the book or have even read it. Those set to attend Nottingham Emmanuel or Farnborough will be reading the book together when they join their Year 7 tutor groups in the Autumn term.
The activities encourage pupils to get to know the book, get to know the area around their new school, work on their literacy skills and get writing creatively!
