Over 10,000 people came down to enjoy the fun family day in the sunshine! Middlesbrough’s Literacy Hub Manager Allison Potter introduced many families to the campaign’s resources and activities for parents as well as how to get involved in the summer reading challenge.
We had lots of fun with you all, drawing and scribbling on leaves to make our very own ‘Word Tree’ and reading story books in the story corner. We also gave a warm welcome to storytellers Peter Atkinson and Tony Wilson who strummed along on the guitar to some wonderful songs and rhymes with the crowds. Rastamouse and Mr Bloom led sessions on the main stage which got everyone moving and grooving along and enjoying Veggie Playtime!
