Take 10 to Read in Manchester

Our #Take10ToRead campaign encourages people of all ages to drop everything and read for just 10 minutes and experience the wellbeing benefits of reading. Our research shows that reading for enjoyment can help you relax and boost your mood, as well as supporting the vital literacy skills needed to succeed at school, work and in life.

This year we are calling on people across Manchester to take 10 minutes to read on or around World Mental Health Day, Friday 10 October.

Take 10 to Read events will be taking place across the city, follow us on Facebook for updates and see how you can get involved below.

Schools

Join the National Literacy Trust’s free, virtual author events to inspire your pupils in the lead up to World Mental Health Day. There are also resources for planning a Take 10 moment in the classroom. Find out more.

If your school is interested in attending in-person events in Manchester, please email Cheryl Pridgeon or Margaret Duff.
