Islington

Arsenal workshops.jpg

Our work in Islington is a three-year borough-wide campaign that includes a fully funded programme for Key Stages 2 and 3 in 16 local schools. The activities aim to embed reading for enjoyment in school communities and support transition from primary to secondary education. The programme included an initial review of the current provision, with a bid to facilitate participation in a wide range of reading activities, provide new books for school libraries, and connect schools and public libraries to build a strong community of readers in Islington.

Our work in Islington is delivered with The Reading Agency and we work alongside local partners Islington Council Library Service, Islington Education Library Service and Islington School Improvement Service.

Each school’s involvement in the project will look differently depending on needs, priorities and provisions already in place.
