Doncaster's Great Green Read

Doncaster's Great Green Read took place in November 2021 with over 10,000 children from 49 local primary schools taking part. The campaign was inspired by the 2021 World Book Day title Protect the Planet by Dr Jess French and Aleesha Nandhra, and it saw thousands of children take part in eco-projects and author events - including one with Ed Miliband MP.
Every child was gifted a copy of Protect the Planet, and participating schools took on mass litter picking challenges, built hedgehog houses and made bee gardens, supporting literacy skills whilst saving the planet! The resources are still available to enjoy at home but all competitions are now closed.
