Back when we launched in 2019,, we asked Doncaster residents, young and old, to tell us about their favourite children's books.
Over 2,100 people took part and, with up to three votes per person, 5,800 votes were cast for more than 900 books. We whittled down the nominations to create Doncaster's top 100 Reads, split into different age groups.
Prizes were offered the school who submitted the most entries. The winners were Hillside Academy and Kingfisher Primary School, who came in at joint first as three-quarters of pupils from both schools submitted entries. There were also two lucky children who won 16 Roald Dahl books to keep!
The list has taken the shape of an interactive wall chart, so that children can choose a new book to read as they grow. The full list can be downloaded below, and used to help children read more widely.
