We'll be adding new teacher resources each term - we hope that you'll use them to support your class in creating some fantastic Blackpool stories to submit for our upcoming anthology, A Blackpool Banquet.

You can submit your class' writing for consideration to: blackpool@literacytrust.org.uk anytime before 2 June 2025.

Term three focus: poetry resources

For our third and final termly focus, we've created a resource to help teachers encourage their children to create their own poems, taking inspiration from their favourite things about Blackpool, alongside their favourite foods. Exploring a variety of poetry styles, in addition to strengthening pupils reading, writing and oracy skills, the resource encourages a deeper appreciation for poetry writing and the tradition of sharing poetry.
