Free National Storytelling Week classroom resource for KS3/S1-3
Supported by Amazon, we have created a fun, interactive storytelling project with novelist, poet and playwright Steven Camden, for pupils aged 11 to 14 (KS3/S1-3). It is based on the theme ‘Reimagine your world’ and is part of our National Storytelling Week activity.
Alongside a week-long series of classroom activities, we ran free, live storytelling workshop with Steven Camden on Tuesday 4 February, where Steven shared his story-writing process and created a story with students. If you missed it, watch the live recording below to inspire your students' stories.
Key stage 3/S1-3 classroom resources
Our classroom resources provide a week-long learning sequence for you to deliver, which supports students to create stories inspired by Steven’s creative process.
You may like to deliver the sessions in tutor time, English lessons, after-school clubs or library sessions: designed as a series of half-hour activities, the learning sequence is adaptable to your school’s needs and capacity.
It is developed with the national curriculum in mind, and the curriculum links can be found at the end of the resource.
Download links can be found below on this page. To access the links you'll need to be logged in as a member, or to sign up for free.
Watch the workshop
If you missed it, or simply want to revisit key moments, watch the recording of Steven's storytelling workshop below, before you complete the week's activities.
Supporting videos
We have three videos made by Steven which accompany the classroom resource. Please find them below, and follow the instructions in the resource pack for how to use them alongside the classroom activities.
