‘Soundtrack your story’: a storytelling project with Annemarie Anang
Supported by Amazon, we have created a fun, interactive storytelling project for National Storytelling Week with musician and author Annemarie Anang, for pupils aged 5 to 7 (KS1/P2-3). Based on the theme ‘Soundtrack your story’, the project is designed to inspire a love of story creation through music and rhythm.
The week begins with a free, live storytelling workshop with Annemarie on 3 February 2026, 9.30-10.00am.
The workshop will be an exciting springboard for a series of classroom activities providing inspiration for pupils’ stories.
If you are unable to attend, a recording of the workshop will be available on YouTube and uploaded to this page.
Key Stage 1 (P2-P3) classroom resources
Our National Storytelling Week classroom resources for Key Stage 1 provides a flexible menu of different storytelling activities for you to deliver. You may like to consider taking time out of your normal timetable to deliver the project, or to build it into your literacy and English focus for the week. The learning sequence is developed with the national curriculum in mind, and the curriculum links can be found at the end of the resource.
We also have family resources for children to complete at home.
