Young Poets Week Resources and Next Steps
Young Poet Laureate application slides, poetry toolkits and further resources
Young Poets Week (24 - 28 November 2025) kickstarted the Young Poet Laureate programme with a week-long celebration of poets and poetry for KS2 and KS3 pupils. It connected teachers and young people with some of our most exciting and best-loved poets in order to explore, read, write and perform poetry together.
Although Young Poets Week has now finished, poetry toolkits and resources from the week remain available to use at any time.
Below you will find everything you need to support ongoing poetry teaching and engagement in the classroom with our Young Poet Laureate Programme, including assembly slides detailing the submissions process, downloadable poetry toolkits and resources, a recording of the teacher briefing and our myth-busting poetry blog with further tips and guidance.
