Statement

Richard O'Neill is a sixth generation master storyteller and author from the Romani tradition. His all original stories, books and plays are Inclusive, inspiring, funny, traditional and contemporary, with strong themes of inclusion, identity, community and ecology. He was awarded an MBE in the 2024 New Years Honours List.

He visits around 80 schools a year delivering workshops, projects and performances across the key stages,he also delivers storytelling skills training for educators everywhere from universities to leading UK and international museums, libraries and schools.

His skills at encouraging children's reading and writing have been rewarded with a National Literacy Hero award an outstanding from Ofsted and a Royal Literary Society award.

Richard believes that storytelling is for everyone so he has stories and workshops for every age and he loves working with EAL and SEN pupils. His picture and chapter books published by major publishers have been called 'A perfect reminder about the power of imagination' by the Sunday Times. And 'realistic and beautifully detailed' by the Historical novel society.

Prices

Per half day (including VAT) £300.00
Per day (including VAT) £450.00

Travel and other costs: 45p per mile. Budget overnight accommodation if necessary
