Miles Salter

Miles Salter - storyteller

Statement

Inspiring children to enjoy books and writing! Miles Salter is a writer, musician and storyteller based in York.

Miles' performances and workshops have featured in schools, museums and theatres across the UK. He has led workshops for thousands of children since 2005, inspiring them to be great creative writers.

One school said of Miles' work: 'The children were so inspired they didn't want to stop writing.'

Miles' storytelling sessions have a strong interactive element, with children using costume and props to join in with the stories, often with hilarious results. The emphasis is on fun and engagement with the written and spoken word. 'I want children to have a great time at my workshops,' says Miles.

Miles' books include 'Howl: A Small and Heavy Adventure' (2015), a series of books about Zip and Pop, two fun frogs, for Queen Mary University London, and two books of poetry for adults. He also contributed to 'The World At Our Feet', a book of football poems.
