Angela Marie James

I am a performance poet and storyteller, and a multi-genre author of books for both children and adults.

I have experience of visiting nurseries, primary and secondary schools and deliver interactive and engaging workshops.

I can deliver assemblies, workshops to individual classes/year groups or virtual sessions. The workshops cover topics such as animals, the Titanic, war, conflict, engineering and spooky poems/stories, as well as poems from my upcoming children’s poetry book series, I Don’t Want To (titles include I Don’t Want to Go to Bed, I Don’t Want to Eat That and I Don't Want to Go to School).

I offer both in-person visits and for those too far to travel to; I offer virtual visits. I am based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire.

I am also the Chair of Governors at a primary school, with Level 1 Safeguarding.

I have an Enhanced DBS certificate and am registered on the DBS Update Service.

In-person visits

• Full day: £350
• Half-a-day: £200

Plus travel expenses if outside of North Staffordshire

If in North Staffordshire: Hourly (or part) - £100

Virtual visits

(via Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.)

• 1 Hour: £80
• 45 Minutes: £70
• 30 Minutes: £50

(can include virtual assemblies)
