Refresh and secure key grammar subject knowledge with these presentations designed for use at staff meetings. They are intended to reinforce existing knowledge while also ensuring that colleagues are familiar with current terminology used in the teaching of grammar.

The presentations are suitable for use across both primary and secondary sectors and with both teaching and support staff. By ensuring that staff are confident and secure in their own grasp of grammar this will build a strong foundation for consistent support as pupils develop skills in the effective analysis and use of language.

This resource includes presentations and documents that cover:

  • an introduction to word classes, such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, determiners and conjunctions
  • the grammar of sentence construction, including a self-assessment exercise
  • tricky punctuation, such as the use of commas, colons, semi-colons, hyphens and dashes
  • a top 10 of grammar resources
