In partnership with Lancôme we have launched Lancome.co.uk/WordsForWork, an online platform designed to help young women find the practical resources and guides they need to tackle the tasks necessary to secure their first job.

This platform also provides advice and insights from a panel of inspirational women.

The mentors featured on the Lancome.co.uk/WordsForWork platform are:

  • Lisa Eldridge, Lancôme’s Global Creative Director
  • Perminder Mann, CEO, Bonnier Books
  • Rose Gallagher, Make-up Artist, Brand Ambassador and Podcast Host
  • Funmi Fetto, Executive Editor and Beauty Director, Glamour UK
  • Adrienne Herbert, International TED Speaker, Podcast Host and Brand Ambassador

Through a series of five brief themed videos, the Words For Work mentors address the challenges involved in each step of the process of applying for and starting a new job. Organised in a sequence which mirrors the job application process, the video themes are:

  • My First CV
  • My First Interview
  • My First Day
  • Career Highs and Lows,
  • Work/Life Balance

Today also marks the final event in our 2019 Words for Work: Women in Leadership programme. In partnership with Lancôme we hosted a panel discussion for students participating in the programme during which panellists shared information about their career journeys and took part in a Q&A session.

Applying for a job can be a daunting task for many young women, especially when they're entering the job market for the first time. So, we’ve created a collection of materials to help young women at every stage of the process, building the communication skills and confidence they need to succeed.
