Erling Haaland or Jarrod Bowen? Leah Williamson or Marta? Messi and Ronaldo might also get a mention. It is time to settle this once and for all: Who is the Greatest Of All Time?

The National Literacy Trust and Premier League Primary Stars are excited to invite you to meet authors of The Football GOAT series Matt Oldfield and Seth Burkett alongside sports broadcaster Kenzie Benali to learn all about the art of persuasion - just in time for the summer holidays!

Join Premier League Primary Stars and the National Literacy Trust on Tuesday 15 July 9.30am-10.15am for a free, exciting online workshop that connects football and literacy by sharing advice on how to persuade through exploring football GOATs. Whether it be for a spoken debate or a written argument, this workshop will be sure to leave pupils prepared to share their own persuasive pitches!

  2. If possible, complete the challenge and share with @literacy_trust and @plcommunities on socials.

Session benefits

  • Provide pupils with persuasive spoken language and writing tips
  • Showcase writing role models
  • Engage your pupils in fun and interactive literacy activities
  • Give your class the chance to submit questions to the presenter and authors
  • Exciting insight into Premier League Primary Stars
  • Give you the chance to win great prizes for you and your class

We hope this session will have something for everyone. Your pupils do not need to be massive footy fans. We will be exploring lots of different GOATs (authors, sportspeople, musicians etc.).

This is the perfect transition activity for teachers wanting to find out a bit more about their new class!
