About Natalie Denny's author event
Teachers and students are warmly invited to join us for this free, online event with author Natalie Denny to mark Take 10.
We would recommend this 45-minute session for students aged between 6 and 9 (Years 2 - 4). At the end of the event, Natalie will lead everyone to #Take10ToRead, so don't forget to have a book handy for some shared or self-led reading, and allow an extra ten minutes.
During the event, pupils will have the opportunity to:
- Hear from Natalie about the inspiration behind the Keisha Jones series
- Join our Acts of Kindness eco-activity, suggesting things we could do to help people and the world around us in the chat box
- Submit questions in the chat box to be answered in a live Q&A session

What is the #Take10ToRead campaign?
Take 10 is our campaign to increase reading for pleasure by promoting the mental wellbeing benefits of reading. It takes place on 10th October, World Mental Health Day. We've created this event for children to help making reading and books fun and enjoyable and bring the wellbeing benefits of reading to your school or setting. The event is also open to those who are home-educated.
If you work in a school setting, find more Take 10 resources for schools, where you can download our classroom ideas guide which is all about promoting book choice.
