In 2019, the University of Birmingham and National Literacy Trust came together to launch Birmingham Stories; since then, colleagues from the School of English, Drama and Creative Studies have been using their research to inform and enhance National Literacy Trust programmes, to tackle literacy and wellbeing needs, and to promote a love of stories in the region.

Now it's time to open out this conversation – to connect researchers from across the University who have an interest in storytelling, in the hope of fostering collaborations between disciplines. Representatives from the National Literacy Trust and other local groups will also be present, hosting a range of informal workshop activities to share insights, generate ideas and even create new potential research collaborations.
