Young People’s Aspirations and Literacy Survey

Girls_discussing.jpg

Our new Aspirations and Literacy Survey of secondary school students explores their aspirations for their futures and the role of literacy in achieving them.

This is our very first survey to explore aspirations and literacy. We want to understand the role literacy plays in young people’s aspirations, and to make practical recommendations about how the sector can best support young people to achieve their full potential.

Participating schools get their own individual school report that outlines your basic findings, which you can compare nationally once the national report is published.

You could use your report to:

  • inform your character education and literacy strategy
  • support evidence for inspections
  • review your current provision

How it works

We aim to survey young people aged 11 to 18, both male and female, from a variety of socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.

Participating schools will need to provide students with access to a 25 minute online survey, and we will do the rest.
