The National Literacy Trust joins Big Ideas by the Sea bringing storytelling fun to the Big Day Out at Scarborough Castle!
Families are invited to join Explorer Ed in the storytelling tent to embark on an exciting adventure together. We will explore fictional paradises with storytelling sessions, delve into our imaginations in search of our own personal paradises, and even share where we find slices of paradise at home in Scarborough.
Come along ready to be entertained with a face painter and a magician joining us on the day thanks to our partners at the Pomoc Project.

I’ve met lots of animals on my explorer travels.

I’ve been travelling all around Scarborough this week,
Exploring new neighbourhoods and finding people to greet.
Dressed up for adventure, I admit, I got a few looks,
As I walked through the streets, past More Than Books.
You can’t trust the weather, we don’t always get sun,
But even in the rain, I’ve found ways to have fun.
Down by the seaside, there's amusement to be found,
In this room full of games, bright lights, and sounds.
I’ve had the best time exploring this town by the sea,
But now I’m taking a break with a big cup of tea.
I like to adventure, explore, wander, and roam.
