Literacy Leadership Accreditation

Become an accredited literacy leader

In association with Exeter University and developed from our Literacy for Life programme we offer secondary teachers the chance to become accredited literacy leaders. When students reach secondary school they are faced with more subject-specific vocabularies that can create a barrier to achievement.

Through embedding great literacy teaching students can access the curriculum more successfully. Not only will this course equip you with the skills to drive excellence in literacy across your school, but you will be awarded completion of the University of Exeter's Independent Study Module, which holds 30 points at master's level.

Combining your studies with your day to day practice you will present a portfolio demonstrating:

  • Knowledge of the role of language and literacy in teaching and learning
  • Motivating and inspirational leadership of language and literacy throughout the curriculum
  • Effective establishment of systems and processes to embed language and literacy across the curriculum
  • Effective monitoring and evaluation of language and literacy across the curriculum
